The COV: Volatil Organic Compounds

Volatile organic compounds are organic substances :
     - Or of synthesis, said secondary, they are petrochemicals. They are going to become soaked in any forms of
supports (varnishes, wood stain, synthetic paints). They put months to volatilize in our inside.
      - Or
natural, said primary, quickly volatilize. (Ex: in natural organic paints in 100).This day, no French label
concerns the natural products (but foreign labels, yes!).

The content in COV is classified according to their nature, paints in aqueous phase -PA- and in phase
     solvent
-PS- (toxins) and their domain of application of said paints. Thanks to the directive Reach, this COV
is henceforth limited according to g/l and by threshold : ex, maximum of 30g / l in inside in PA.

     The mineral paints
(paint in the lime, the clay) do not emit COV.

Example of calculations of Volatil organic compounds:
(Lasting "degassing" in 12 to 24 months)

Only decoration of the walls of a room of 3m × 4m, by height under ceiling of 2,50 m, is 35m ².

Version 1
- coats "polished concrete" : return 1kg by m² !! (If 1kg ~ 1litre)
     Rate COV 200g/l in m²  thus 200g by m² = 35 m² × 200g /m ² = 7000 g of cov/room
     +finish polishes on concrete: rate COV polishes 75g/l  1litre for 8-10 m²  thus 7.5g cov for 1m² × 35 m² = 262.5 g
     Total COV in gram
for this room = 7262.50 g

     Version 2
- paint acrylic satin not éco label nor NF environment averages of 350g/l of COV
     For 1 liter = 10m²  thus 35g in m² × 35 m² = 1225g × 2 sleep paint = 2450g cov
     Total COV in gram
for this room = 2450 g

Enterprise THOMAS: choice through ESFD (environmental and health declaration sheets)

Version 3 - paint éco label satin (threshold 2010 for matt) of 30g/l of cov    for 1 liter = 10 in 12m²
We keep the value of 1liter for 10m²  thus 3g cov by m² × 35 m² × 2
sleep paint = 105g × 2
     Total COV in gram
for this room = 210 g

     Version 4
- paint with 10g/l of cov for 1 liter = 10m²  thus 1g by m² × 35 m² = 35g × 2
sleep paint = 75 g

Total COV in gram for this room = 75 g

     Version 5
- paint with 1g/l of cov (synthetic or natural) always 1litre = 10m²
     0.1 g by m² × 35 m² = 3.5 g × 2
sleep paint = 7 g

Total COV in gram for this room = 7 g
